Coyote Linux 2.0-pre4 and Wizard 2.2.0-beta1 are available

Coyote Linux 2.0 pre-release 4 and the first beta release of the Windows disk creator for this version are available for download. These files have been added to the downloads section and are served up by the SourceForge.net mirrors.

Pre-release 4 squashes several bugs from the previous builds and should be mostly functional for Internet connection sharing. This release also includes a caching DNS proxy and should appear "stealth" in its default config. Works still needs to be done to complete the port-forwarding scripts

Coyote Linux 2.0 pre-release 1 is available for download

Coyote Linux v2.00 pre-release 1 is available from the FTP server (ftp.coyotelinux.com/pub/coyote/devel/). This release replaces the 1.4x tree and contains the much awaited move to the 2.4.x kernels and iptables firewalling support. This release should be mostly functional but still needs a fair deal of work.

The 1.4x downloads have been removed from the FTP server as development of this tree has been discontinued. The Windows Wizard is not available for this build yet, but will be released once the Linux version is closer to completion.

Viper IDS Sensor is available for download again

The Viper IDS Sensor is available for download again after being taken offline for security reasons. The attack signature detection engine (snort) has been upgraded to fix the security flaw discovered in previous releases.

Wolverine v1.1 build 360 available for download from the update server

The Wolverine Firewall and VPN server version 1.1 build 360 is available from the update server. This build has been released to deal with a security vulnerability recently discovered in the PPTP daemon (PoPToP). An installation CD for this version is not being created at this time as the 1.2 release is due out very shortly and will replace both the 1.0 and 1.1 versions of Wolverine. The PPTP flaw affects all versions of Wolverine prior to 1.1.360. Version 1.0 is being removed from the download areas as it is no longer being actively supported. If your firewall does not have the PPTP services enabled, it is not affected by this vulnerability.
